We recently visited Chinatown Plaza in Salt Lake City, and it was quite the experience! Imagine stepping into a bustling hub of all things Asian cuisine. They have a supermarket packed with every Chinese food item you could dream of, and a bunch of restaurants that had us drooling at first sight. The bakery? Oh, it was heavenly! Pastries that would make you swear off your diet for good. Plus, there were tons of other food options, all in that delightful Asian style. Good ramen? You bet! The place was lively--so many people enjoying their meals and having a good time. It's the kind of noisy and loud ambiance you'd expect from a bustling plaza, but it just added to the charm. Now, parking was a bit of a game of chance. We ended up parking on the roadside, so be prepared for that little adventure. Prices were reasonable, and the cleanliness was decent. Here's the kicker: we went there on a Sunday evening because most other restaurants and malls were closed. If you find yourself stuck in Salt Lake City on a Sunday afternoon with limited dining options, Chinatown Plaza is your go-to spot. It's open, lively, and full of delicious eats. All in all, Chinatown Plaza is a fun, flavorful stop in Salt Lake City. Just bring your appetite and maybe some earplugs if you're not into the lively chatter!

Excellent selection of produce, meats, and fish. The store has a fish frying service. There is a very small deli with roasted meats.

This is a mecca of Asian groceries for Utah and the local communities to find international food items, spices, sauces, ingredients etc to create Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Asian cuisine. Shoppers are of all cultures and ethnicities as we're living in an era of a racial melting pot of desired inclusion when it comes to food and eating, so rejoice and celebrate the tasty flavors! There's various retail shops here too. Being from both Nor Cal (San Francisco) and So Cal (Los Angeles) where California has so many Asian Markets, this here rivals and meets all expectations on variety and pricing. I'd encourage local residents to check it out and visitors to come as well.

Wow, I wish I was a cook! I uttered these words to myself so many times as I browsed through the supermarket shelves recently. There are so many interesting items that I'm not familiar with! Seeing how many people were shopping alongside me, there are plenty of others out there who know what all these items are for. (Want to invite me to dinner? I'll clean up!) Anyway, if you're looking for a specific Asian ingredient for a meal you want to cook, I'm pretty sure you'll find it here. Or if you just want as many different flavors of potato chips as possible, you'll be thrilled to know that you can stock up on a huge variety. After you shop, if you're like me and don't want to cook anymore because you're so tired, you can dine in at any of a number of restaurants surrounding the market. That's where you'll find me.
